ru’mi-nate: to chew the cud; to muse; to meditate; to think again; to ponder
Ruminate is a nonprofit, reader-supported community chewing on the mysteries of life, faith, and art. We invite slowing down, paying attention, and living awake. We love laughter. And we delight in telling the truth, asking questions, and doing “small things with great love,” as Mother Theresa said.
We know that our days are often busy and loud, yet we feel empty and asleep. Storytelling and art reminds us to slow down and live more fully awake with compassion, creativity, and curiosity. Subscribe and join our community—let's stay awake together!
Ruminate is brought to you from Fort Collins, Colorado. It was created in April 2006 by a group of fellow writers, artists, and believers who wanted a space for the thoughtful expressions of those who are nudged forward, backward, and sideways by faith in God.
We realized we were not the only ones desiring an outlet and community of this sort, so we began fashioning Ruminate in between prayers of doubt and hope, the birth of children, going back to grad school, and, of course, our day jobs. Ruminate is and always will be an act of faith.
