Issue 18: Sound & Silence

This issue is SOLD OUT in print form, but it is still available here in digital form.

We crave silence. We crave sound. In a world full of noise, music and silence can be equally lavish, and in this issue, we witness the distinction our contributors give us between sound and noise. They also encourage us to listen and hear.

They bring gifts for our weary ears and weary hearts: an essay that helps us consider the effects of forcing silence on others; poetry on the sound of grief, aging and love, fiction about silent fathers and the noise of laundromats, and art about the voice of cathedrals. These are sounds worth listening for, and this issue helps us to find the quiet required to hear them.
